David Svet - President and CEO

David is the founder of Spur Communications. He has over 25 years of experience in the marketing communications field. David is responsible for leading Spur's pioneering efforts in 1:1 marketing and brand development. Prior to forming Spur, David was a designer for NewTek Incorporated, the makers of the Video Toaster. A native of Ohio, David was a member of the Industrial Design faculty at The Ohio State University where he taught and conducted research in computer graphics and user interface design. David holds a B.S. in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati, and a M.A. in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University. His design, teaching, and research articles are chronicled in the following publications: Print, Innovation, Proceedings of the ACM SIGGRAPH, Arts Advocate, Corporate Identity Design Volume I, and Expressive Typography: Word as Image. In his free time David can be found working as a Boy Scout leader, serving on the Board of Directors of Hope House (the largest domestic violence shelter system in Missouri) or kayaking and scuba diving with his family.
Rachel Spear - Director of Account Strategy

MS - University of Kansas
Rachel leads account strategy and project management at Spur. She has a broad range of experience including brand development, corporate communications, strategic planning and public relations. Rachel holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and has earned a M.S. in Journalism - Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications. In her free time Rachel can be found finding her center in yoga classes or spoiling her dog.
